Propaganda
Propaganda is a system that uses a variety of media tools to help achieve certain purposes. It includes giving lies, falsehood, deceit and brainwashing. [1] Propaganda was first found in ancient Greeks, it was very useful as it helps to persuade ideas and communicate with the public successfully. Years pass, governments had used propaganda to influence the public using the government’s perspective to view the world. Propaganda is a form of communism, it often present facts selectively. It’ll keep on repeat their statements through media to crate a chosen result in audience attitudes. [2] One of the example of propaganda is the leader of China Mao Zhe Dong, used propaganda to convince citizens to follow his lead.
Russian Revolution VS Animal Farm: Propaganda
Propaganda played an important part in the novel Animal Farm and the Russian Revolution. During the Russian Revolution, Joseph Stalin used propaganda to publicize his messages. [3] Pictures and posters are over places with the image of Stalin in the middle while bringing out the message. The posters depicts Stalin as a powerful person and people should be loyal to him. The image of peasants delivering flowers to the picture of Stalin in the posters convey people that it is important to show the loyalty to Stalin. “The visitor to Russia is struck by the multitudes of posters in factories and barracks, on walls and railway- cars, on telegraph poles- everywhere.” said American Journalist Albert Rhys Williams, after a trip to Russia in 1923. Films and posters were created, it is effective as it has influenced many Russia Citizens. In Animal Farm, propaganda was often used by the pigs in their speech where they created an image for themselves. Squealer, one of the pig is in charge of making sure the animals give their loyalty to Napoleon. The pigs used propaganda to convince the animals to provide more apples and milk without the pigs working. Squealer created a film for animals to watch, stating that all animals should bow below him. Napoleon has also created a statue of himself showing that he is powerful. The propaganda has influenced the animals by saying “Napoleon is always right”. The similarity of the propaganda used for both revolution is that the leader wants to maintain the loyalty people gave them, therefore creating films and posters. They also hope to maintain their power for their own benefits.
Was George Orwell Successful in describing the propaganda of Russian Revolution in Animal Farm?
Propaganda was used everywhere in both Russian Revolution and Animal farm revolution. The surroundings around us are always influenced by the speech of the leader, the image the leader modify themselves in public and the media. George Orwell is successful in describing the propaganda during the Russian revolution as it has clearly reflects through the propaganda in Animal farm. Orwell also used films and statue in Animal farm to show the readers that media can affect ones thinking. The message that the film and statue brings out also reflect on the message that Stalin brings out to the citizens. The effective writing of Orwell let readers easily to relate the two revolutions together.

Was George Orwell Successful in describing the propaganda of Russian Revolution in Animal Farm?
Propaganda was used everywhere in both Russian Revolution and Animal farm revolution.
